Lil Wayne was expecting Drake to sell over 2 million in a week.Drake didn't exactly do 2 million or match Lil Wayne " THE CARTER 3 " with one million.But considering the condition that the economy's in and the falling of hip hop sales and the leaking of his album weeks before the release date, Thank Me Later did fair well.Listening to Thank me Later you can expect a good CD for your money.I strongly recommend this Cd to any fan of hip hop and R&B.
All good songs but a huge difference from his brand of music.From 1 through 10 I would rate this album a Strong 8. Example songs such as Fancy,Up all Night, Miss Me. The 23 year rapper than kicked the album up a notch with catchy and commerical songs such as " Fancy " the lady banger!Which most likely was the label idea! Drake has a certain brand of music that he sticks firmly to.But at times you can tell when the label interfere and convince Drake that his album will need that commerical hip hop feel.
Drake also displays his improving vocal skills on the relaxing beat of " karaoke ". Signing with the unstoppable Young Money.Drake enhanced his back support and drop this years most anticipated album " Thank me later ".Selling over 400,000 copies in the first week,Drake once again silenced the critics and put up decent numbers.Opening the album with catchy lines such as " and my dreams are who I'm racin' with you can see I'm pacin it so that I'm always chasen it".On the amazing fulling song featuring Alicia Keys. With his smooth rap vocals over 40 cal feather-soft synths " So Far Gone " is labeled as one of the best mixtapes in hip hop.So Far Gone featured various artist such as Bun B,Lloyd,Lil Wayne,Trey Songz and more.
Later discovered by Lil Wayne.Drake put out 2008 hottest Mixtape " SO FAR GONE ".Making a name for himself.This mixtape which circled the market strongly silenced all the critics of Drizzy. Making his way with his hit single "BEST I EVER HAD".But Drake was at it way before then with mixtapes such as Comeback Season,Room For Improvement,and October's Very Own. It is the rare album, rap or otherwise, that follows through on the artist's potential and the fan’s anticipation.You've already heard the story,But lets take a moment to embrace his unbelievable statement in the industry.Drizzy "DRAKE" Rogers a Canadian born rapper who,until 17 months ago was only known for being Jimmy in Degrassi.Has become the hottest artist in the hip hop industry. Indeed, it is this willingness to be introspective and honest that makes Drake unique and helps make Thank Me Later special. His nimble flow is impressive his words are heartfelt, brainy, and surprising and while his singing may not be the best, it shows a vulnerability that is rare in rap circles. He never shows anyone up exactly (though Jay-Z's verse sounds kind of out of breath compared to Drake's), but he definitely proves that he belongs at the very top of the game. Elsewhere, Lil Wayne's verse on 'Miss Me' is his usual breathtaking verbal roller coaster, the-Dream's vocals on the verses of 'Shut It Down' are heartbreakingly sincere, and Jeezy adds some welcome ferociousness to 'Unforgettable.' It’s like all the guests had to bring their best game to keep up with Drake, and they didn't want the youngster to show them up. The T.I./Swizz Beatz track “Fancy” is a fun and sassy summer jam with a huge hook, his track with Jay-Z ('Light Up') is a fierce takedown of the Industry and the damage it can wreak, and the Nicki Minaj collabo 'Up All Night' is a tough-as-nails boast that features Drake at his most insistent.
